Fairwind is a 1983 Catalina 22 with a fixed keel and a pop-top. We’ve loved her for the past six years. Before us the Commodore of our local yacht club loved her 23 years. He raced her. We’ve outfitted her for cruising. Catalina has an incredible technical support department if you ever have a question you can call them up and they’ll walk you through it step by step. Original parts are available through their factory store. Many of the pieces and parts we replaced came direct from Catalina. Fairwind is a joy to sail. She’s stiffened with dual running back stays and a bulkhead wall against the mast compression post. With all lines led aft, a Davis Tiller Tamer, roller furling, and single line “jiffy” reefing she’s very easily single-handed. We didn’t intend that we’d be selling our boat, but have an opportunity to buy something larger that’ll better accommodate our growing family. It’s important to us that Fairwind goes to someone who’ll love her and take good care of her like we did. I love sleeping on the double berth with the dinette table down and the pop-top up looking out at the stars. I’ll really miss this wonderful boat.
