I've been playing this beauty onstage and in the studio for years with some of the biggest artists in the world, having a ball...but now, it deserves to be played and recorded and cherished by (and write songs with) some other lucky chap. It's the world's greatest Les Paul, but I've gravitated toward SGs. Specifics: This is a 2016 Gibson figured maple-top sunburst Les Paul. Mahogany body. Locking tuners. Structurally 100% with GREAT neck. Immaculate appearance on front body. Couple of slight cosmetic flaws: slight buckle rash/checking on the back body and neck varnish, and a small (hard to see) "fleck" on the headstock. (See pics). Soundwise, it is quite something: classic, late '60s Clapton, Page, and Beck: fat, creamy power chords; singing leads; extraordinary sustain; and looks dazzling under the stage lights. One interesting thing about this guitar: With ultra-chambered (lightweight) Les Pauls, you lose sustain. But with original (heavy) Les Pauls, you gain sustain at the price of a sore shoulder and back (some of those old heavy Les Pauls weighed up to 12 or 14 pounds). But this particular Les Paul strikes a perfect balance between weight relief and sustain: it's about 8 pounds 10 ounces, but still has as much sustain as my dad's '59 Les Paul (the one he played on "American Woman"). As for price: Les Pauls of this class, in good or very good condition, with figured maple tops, usually go from around $6000 USD to $10,000 USD (see, e.g., comparable Les Pauls on Chicago Music Exchange or Gary's Classic Guitars). This one's a gem, but does have a bit of buckle rash, so I've decided to let it go for $5500 USD - that is, $7700 CAD. First guy or gal to pay, gets it. Comes with a hard case. Beautiful and unique enough to be a family heirloom, but awesome enough to be a working studio or stage guitar.
