Comes with Tea Cosy, New Infuser & New (value $10) Package of Local Company Earl Grey Loose Leaf Tea and new cork coaster Meet up mornings near Fort and Cook. It’s from the 1930’s according to the link so almost an antique (100 yrs the marker for antique). Excellent condition, it holds 40 ounces (5 measuring cups) but “teacups” are 6 ounces making it a “6 cup teapot”. The pot weighs 1.5 lbs. so filled with water 4 lbs. No cracks or chips. It does have some manufacturing flaws as the items made then had more “hands on” in the manufacturing. The great thing about English teapots is they DON’T drip and they lay flat upside down to drain dry. The horizontal lines in the blue paint is not crazing or cracks, it’s how it was glazed, likely by hand, and there are paint flaws near the handle and on one side of the pot near the horizontal line. According to the photo it’s from the1930’s. The tea cozy is a well padded lighthouse design, hand made patchwork, cotton, different on each side, purchased from a craft fair. It keeps tea hot for a long time. Used, but clean and no stains. The infuser is firm stainless steel mesh, it didn’t get used. Because these teapots were made long before we had infusers to set inside, the lid will not fit with the infuser in so I’ve included a brand new cork-bottomed coaster to set on the infuser, coated side down, while steeping. Once the infuser is removed the lid can go back on. The coaster can do double duty to set the teapot on! I did a “heat retention” test putting boiling water (200F) water in it, with the tea cosy on After 1 hour 176F After 2 hr 158 F After 3 hr 145F According to the web “the preferred drinking temperature of coffee” is specified in the literature as 120-140F. So even after 3 hrs it is still hotter than the recommended drinking temperature. Stays hot longer than you need it to likely! Included is a new unopened 3.5 ounce pack of “Victorian Earl Grey” tea from “Queen Bee Farms” on the Malahat. It was a limited issue to honour the city. They sell wonderful teas, see their website here. https://queenbeefarms.ca/collections/black-teas
