Hello, We are Dr. Blake Ledger (PhD) and Dr. Victoria Waind (DVM) and we are moving from Hamilton ON to Victoria BC in November 2024. Blake has his PhD in Astrophysics from McMaster University and recently accepted an Aspiration Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Victoria. Victoria is an emergency veterinarian specializing in small animal care and will work as a vet in the area. We are recently engaged and getting married in Ontario in 2025. We are excited to pursue new career and job opportunities on the island. We are both non-smokers, quiet and clean, and Blake is handy around the house and able to make some small repairs/fixes. We are looking to rent a house/apartment/townhouse from mid Nov/beginning of Dec 2024 and willing to sign a one-year lease. We both have many years experience renting and are happy to provide multiple rental and personal references. We are willing to pay rent in the budget of $2500+ and are ideally looking for a location on a bus route to UVic. We are interested in 2+ bedrooms 1+ bath and searching to find a space with our dog Bear. Bear is a 4 year old black lab/border collie cross who is well house-trained and a joy to be around. He is a rescue, mid-sized (~50 lbs), and for us a big reason why we are placing a Want Ad when finding an accommodation. We are responsible pet owners and happy to provide multiple references about our boy as well.
