We are looking to re-home our beautiful 3 year old Lexi. She is high energy Border Collie/ Pitbull/ Lab mix with the best personality. As of recently, she has started showing signs of aggression towards and jealously towards our baby. And after a hard discussion, we have decided to find a new loving family for her. We don't want to risk our baby getting hurt or putting Lexi in a position where she isn't in control and something happen. We rescue Lexi from the SPCA 2 years ago. She has been a farm dog, with 5 acres to play on eve since. Lexi is fully house trained, knows all basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, bed, etc) and is an expert at fetch. Unfortunately, she does not get along with other dogs and does have over stimulated anxiety when seeing another dog or bike. Since being with us we have worked/trained hard to get her to where she is now. However, this environment isn't safe for her or our family anymore. We have reached out to the SPCA and all rescues on the island, and because of her past with another dog. They are unable to adopt her out again. Because of her specific needs, we want to make the right decision when placing her with a new family. Ensuring she'll be in safe place, and her new owners understanding her needs. We feel like she would thrive on another farm with no other pets/children. However, she is use to lives stock, as we make have alpacas and chickens.
