- Early 1980s Bianchi Piaggio.* - Made in Japan - Chromoly** - My parents are sponsoring a refugee family from Iraq and I built this ride for the father who ended up being way to short for it. Anyway, since it is a Bianchi I decided to fix it up to sell to try and make some money back. (I went out of pocket to to build bicycles that were small enough for each of the family members). Work Done: - Frame: stripped, sanded, primed, painted, new Decals installed, and everything clear-coated*** - New bar tape ($20), new tires ($72 - Kenda K Shield road 90 PSI $36 each), new: brake cables ($10), brake housing ($10), and shifting cables ($10). - Bottom Bracket and Wheel bearings completely overhauled: dismantled, carefully cleaned, re-greased, and re-assembled with new ball bearings. - All components individually cleaned and polished before re-mounting. - Dia Compe Brake Leavers and Brake Calipers, Sun Tour ARX Derailleurs and Shifters (Made in Japan), "Super Custom" Cranks (Made in Japan), Leather Covered "Turbo" Saddle (Made in Italy), Kyokuto (Aluminum) Pedals (Made in Japan), Araya 27x1 1/4" Rims (Made in Japan), SAKAE "Custom" (Aluminum) Handle Bars (Made in Japan). Other: - Frame has brazed on shifting cable guides on the bottom bracket and braking cable guides on the top tube, forged drop-outs have depth setting screws and threaded eyelets. - Pre-refurbishment photos available if you are interested. Footnotes: *Piaggio and Bianchi were paired from about 1980-85. **I could not find the "steel-type" sticker on the seat tube, but this ride is lighter, smoother, more responsive, and is just generally a much nicer ride than my own Chromoly Apollo from the 1980s. (It is WAY nicer than my1980s High Tensile Steel Peugeot haha). I am assuming therefore that it Must be some form of Chromoly or some other steal equivalent: it weighs 10 kilos (22 Ib.) with all components (as shown in photos). ***-Repainted: cleaned, sanded, primed ($10 of primer), and painted in multiple coats ($25 paint); new decals ($20), and a clear coat ($10) over everything to finish, This protects the paint and decals from scuffing and peeling respectively.
