Give Your Old Art New Life

Give your previously loved art pieces the opportunity to be appreciated by new owners in a new home.

We are seeking donations of all kinds of art and collectibles for an online auction fundraiser for the Prospect Lake District Community Association:

– originals, limited edition prints, oils, watercolours, pastels, prints, posters … – statuary, vases, vessels, interesting sets of glassware …

Donations will be gratefully received at the Prospect Lake Community Hall between 10 am and 2 pm on Sunday February 23rd and Sunday, March 2. Volunteers will meet your vehicle to unload your items.

Proceeds will be used to help maintain the Prospect Lake Community Hall, one of the few remaining community owned halls in BC.

Coldest Night of the Year supporting Our Place and PCFSA – February 22

Join Our Place Society and Pacific Center for Family Services Association on February 22 for Coldest Night of the Year, a community fundraising walk to support Greater Victoria’s hurt, hungry and homeless.

Register individually or with your business, school, church or group and join our caring community for a 2km or 5km walk through the downtown or Westshore. This uplifting evening will be filled with community spirit, music, food, and fun!

In Greater Victoria, Coldest Night of the Year is organized by Our Place Society and Pacific Centre for Family Services Association. All money raised goes to support crucial local services and every step we take brings someone closer to safety, health and home.

CCPA presents Ride the Cyclone – February 7-15

Join the Canadian College of Performing Arts for an unforgettable theatrical experience in Ride the Cyclone, directed by Jordan Laffrenier, running from February 7–15 2025 at the CCPA Performance Hall at 1701 Elgin Rd in Oak Bay.

Ride the Cyclone was created in Victoria by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell before making its way off-Broadway. Called “.. big-hearted, subversively funny and not to be missed” by Adrian Chamberlain, Times Colonist, the production follows six teenagers who awake in limbo from a wild roller-coaster ride where a mysterious fortune teller may give them a chance to return to the living. The fortune teller has one condition – tell a story “Like no other”.

2025 Dine Around & Stay in Town Victoria – January 24 – February 9

The 2025 Dine Around and Stay in Town Victoria season will be kicking off once again with the Dine Around Gala on January 23rd at the Crystal Garden!

This year’s program runs from January 24th – February 9th, and features over 50 Greater Victoria restaurants putting their best-food-forward with set three-course menus priced at $25, $35, $45, $55, $65, and $75.

Hotels take part in the program by offering special rates. “Stay in Town” with options from as low as $139/night… because nothing pairs better with a delicious night-out than a comfortable hotel room!

2025 Shine Gala – A Night of Fashion – April 5

It’s time to mark your calendar! Join us April 5th 2025 at the Fairmont Empress for a night of glitz, glamour and giving! This illustrious affair promises an unforgettable experience for attendees while supporting the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra Tea and Symphony – February 16

This year’s Tea and Symphony takes place on Sunday February 16, 2:30 PM at the Sooke Community Hall.

The Sooke District Lioness will be catering with sweet and savory finger foods, coffee and tea. The tables are always beautifully set with tablecloths, fresh flowers and delicate porcelain teacups.

Yariv Aloni and the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra will be bringing you a selection of musical treats by Mozart and Tchaikovsky. Cellist Caitlyn Liu, a recent graduate of the University of Victoria music program, will play Tchaikovsky’s graceful, virtuosic Variations on a Rococo Theme. Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito Overture and his Symphony No.35, nicknamed “Haffner”, complete the program. Both works are quintessential Mozart at his sparkling, lively best.

Fashion Splash – February 15

Get your front-row seat to Van Isle style! Fashion Splash 2025, aims to showcase our talented fashion industry here on Vancouver Island, featuring local designers, models, and beauty industry professionals. Wounded Warrior BC Run – February 23 – March 2

Join us for the Wounded Warrior Run BC 2025! Your donations support Trauma-Exposed Professionals and their families on Vancouver island. Attend our Gala Dinner on February 1, 2025, or cheer us on during the One-Day Sooke to Sidney Run on February 2, 2025. Belfry Theatre presents Behind the Moon – February 4 – March 2

Rizwan Manji, from the hit TV series, Schitt’s Creek, stars in Behind the Moon at the Belfry Theatre from February 4 to March 2.

Hailed as “one of CanLit’s most innovative chameleons,” playwright and author Anosh Irani takes us to the Mughlai Moon restaurant in Toronto, where Ayub cooks, cleans, and waits for his future to begin. His father’s friend, Qadir, has brought him to Canada with a promise of permanency that never seems to materialize. A mysterious stranger brings with him the clarity that Ayub needs to free himself from the limbo in which he is suffocating.
