$10 · Tall bright yellow pond iris

These iris are 36 to 48 inches tall and are sold as a clump about 6 by 6 inches approx. This Japanese sterile hybrid likes a bit of shade too rather than full sun. This is not the invasive common iris seen locally. They have been grown in water so assume they need to be on a pond margin or right in the shallow pond like mine. This is japanese hybrid iris that is sterile and expands slowly by rhyzome if allowed to. Put them in big pots and trim off the rhyzome as it tries to expand. It does not spread by seed. I have had this iris for 30 years and got it from a nursery person in central Saanich.
