This is a Saanich 4H small engine project from a 13 year old 12v Motorguide Electric trolling motor (32lbs thrust, 10A, 222w, about 1/4 horsepower) 5 speed + 2 reverse speed The 40W solar panel can be used to charge your marine battery on the go. Very reliable. Comes with controller, extension cable, crocodile clips. This solar panel will give 1.5A and up to 2A in perfect condition. Still works on cloudy days (about 1A). That means that you could use the motor for up to 2 hours and charge your 12v battery for 10 hours and be ready to go! You cannot plug directly the solar panel to the motor. You would need 5 of these 40W, or a bigger 200-300W solar panel to have a free ride :-) This could be hazardous depending on the size of your boat and the weather.
