$140 · Robert Held Art Glass Red Poppy Vase

This is a California poppy patterned art glass vase blown by acclaimed Vancouver Island artist Robert Held. A lovely signed piece that displays beautifully. Robert was responsible for launching Canada’s first college-level hot glass program at Sheridan College in Ontario in 1969. This program allowed many North American artists to become skilled in the medium and established Robert as the pioneer of art glass in Canada. He opened Skookum Art Glass in Calgary, Alberta in 1978 and operated the studio there until 1987. This piece was produced in his Parksville studio before he retired. His works are in many private and corporate collections world wide. A beautiful vase that would make a lovely addition to any collection of his works.
