This magnificent bronze floor lamp stands 68" tall x 12" wide at carved base. The lamp formerly stood at the Jolly Friar on Cormorant Street till it closed in the 1960's. If you weren't around then or are too young to remember this wonderful little diner ask your grandparents about it; they might recall the amazing burgers and chili served there. At the closing out sale, when the Jolly Friar building was slated for demolition, this lamp went to The Cock Pheasant Restaurant on West Saanich Road as did the little front door (made of wood salvaged from the burnt out original Memorial Arena), purchased by restaurant owner Poul Nielsen, and was installed at the end of the new added on wing. Truly a piece of Victoria history. This link provides lots more information about the Jolly Friar: https://murphjustsaying.com/2017/03/15/jolly-friar-remembered/
