Tribal Betel-nut Lime Container #4 It's is from the island of Timor, Indonesia. Was purchased by us in 1980 in Bali. This beautiful container, made from carved bamboo, to store lime powder which is used with betel nut. The lime powder is mixed with the nuts when eaten, giving them a tart sour taste. This container has been made from a length of bamboo which has been etched with a geometric pattern on its entire length. It is in great condition given its age and has a warn smooth finish. Size: approx 5.5 inches long x 1.25 inches in diameter.
