Grandfather clocks are such stately beauties. When I was little, I always knew I was in a classy house when I saw a grandfather clock there. The solemn ringing announcing the passing of each hour bestowed a certain status upon the house in my youthful eyes. There's more to class than clocks of course, but I had low standards as a child. š This beauty dates from 1820-1830. It needs a daily wind if you're into hourly chiming and one every three days if you prefer silence. It has a lovely face with the gentle touch of age that gives it the grace of a kind old friend.
