Skating Rink Attendant

The Visitor Services department is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Rink Attendants for the Magic of Christmas season. DUTIES: -processing payment for ticket sales and skate rentals -inspecting, cleaning and managing incoming and outgoing skate rentals -completing skate rink maintenance including manual scraping and flooding, temperature collection and minor ice repairs. -ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all visitors by supporting our House Rules and Gardens Etiquette -interaction with visitors in a wide variety of service situations including monitoring, assisting and problem-solving -other duties as required by the Visitor Services department REQUIREMENTS: -comfort working outside in all types of weather -good physical fitness and strong ability to bend, lift, and push. This position requires the ability to push a heavy metal shovel blade across the ice, shovel snow, and navigate safely on ice surface (with clamp-on grips). -availability to work evening shifts, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime. -approachable, punctual and outgoing, with excellent customer service skills -ability to communicate in an energetic, polite and respectful manner -willingness to adhere to established appearance policies -no previous rink or skating experience is required WORK SEASON: This position offers 30-40 hours per week from December 1, 2024 – January 6, 2025. Shifts times will primarily fall between 2pm-10:30pm. Both weekday and weekend availability are required. Starting from $18.25 per hour.
