Y o u r r o l e * Enjoy interacting with the public; * Maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanour; * Drive one of several different coach/buses or company non-revenue vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the contracted service area within a daily assigned time schedule; * Maintain the appearance of the interior of the bus ; * Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required; * Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids; * Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and all accidents, and communicate with dispatch as required; * Operate on-board computer fare boxes and destination signs; * Perform all other duties assigned. Your profile * A valid Class 2 BC Driver’s License with air brake endorsement (If you have a class 5, please visit ICBC, and get your learners permit then e-mail once completed); * Demonstrated ability to communicate/interact with the public (all levels of comprehension), management and other staff members in a courteous/respectful/efficient manner and to answer a variety of enquiries with tact and discretion; * Demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem solving skills; * A record of safe and responsible driving over the past 5 years; * A willingness to work a variety of shifts; * The ability to demonstrate proficiency in the safe and effective operation of a transit vehicle; * Applied knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health Act in relations to Transit Operators; * Knowledge of occupational hazards/safety precautions associated with a variety of transit work activities. * You must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing and background checks; Your location * This is a casual, unionized position in Kamloops. * Transit environment: early, split & late shifts may be required Join an international Group strongly rooted in the communities Transdev is an international leader in mobility at the service of communities.
