I have 6 AC-1304 (Google Wifi) mesh points / wifi routers. Each of them can be used standalone, but they're intended to be meshed together to cover your whole house. $40 for one $60 for 2 Having tried several brands of mesh router, Google's is the simplest to get working, with automatic mesh building. You can optionally connect them together with Ethernet for a cable backbone, or forgo the cables for wireless mesh. Most homes probably only need 2-3. I thought I needed more, but my problem ended up being solved by switching more devices to 5ghz. https://www.amazon.ca/Google-Wi-Fi-System-single-point/dp/B073ZMDMKH
