OEM+ 1997 Volkswagen Golf CL with 1.8L engine and manual transmission. Fun to drive. Sips fuel - upwards of 550km combined driving per 40L tank. Bullet proof, simple to work on drive train. 2 owner car, I've had it for the past 19 years. No accidents. Well taken care of. Needs nothing and everything works. Original engine and transmission, no modifications under the hood. Low KM's. Selling due to not having enough room in the driveway for a spare vehicle. Technical Specs Fuel Consumption (L/100km's): 9.3 (Manual City) 6.6 (Manual Highway) Engine: 1.8L L4 SOHC 8 valves Fuel: Gasoline Power: 90 hp @ 5250 rpm Transmission: 5 speed manual Body: Hatchback Doors: 3 Seats: 5 From the factory this was definitely a no frills economy vehicle. Over the years I have added; GTI dual chamber headlights and fogs, mint Cabriolet MK3.5 heated leather front seats and leather rear bench, power windows, keyless entry, Cabrio MK3.5 leather door cards, power heated side mirrors, Cabrio MK3.5 steering 3 spoke steering wheel, heated windshield nozzels, Cabrio MK3.5 alloy wheels with brand new (October 2022) M+S tires, GTI smoked tail and sidemaker lights, euro headlight switch, euro VW radio with CD, handsfree bluetooth and multiple types of aux inputs, locking gas door and more... Interior lights up red and blue like Mk4 cars. Has a factory immobiliser alarm and newer OEM battery and alternator. Just had the car looked over by an independent VW mechanic who replaced the hall sender ($900) and changed the engine oil (May 2023). Car needs nothing and has a clean bill of health. The only cons are there is a small bubble of rust on passenger rear wheel well and driver side hatch. I have another clean red hatch and if I get the time I can swap it out or at least will be included in the sale. There's also an impact mark on the original windshield but it's been there prior to my ownership. Does not effect vision. Message me with any questions.
