The property is located next to the galloping goose trail for miles of trail riding and a short hack away from the Metchosin Community Riding Ring (requires registration at the Community Hall). There is also a lit sand round pen on the property available for use. This is an adult atmosphere, and intermediate or experienced riders need only apply. There are no lessons available with the lease, but an outside instructor can be arranged at your cost. The lease is a month-to-month arrangement. It's $200 month to ride one day a week or $300 for three days a week. Preference given to leasers who would like more than one day a week. The lease provides use of the horse’s tack and equipment, but not the rider's helmet or boots. There is general care required of the horse and equipment on your riding days, fly spray, hoof care, tack cleaning etc. Clean up of manure in paddocks and field area is required on your riding days and can be shared if another leaser shares your day. If you are unable to ride on your designated day then an email or text to the owner is required to ensure that the chores are covered. The horse is yours on your designated lease day and you can ride anytime within barn hours 9:00am-8:00pm (daylight hours). The evening hours will extend or shrink as the daylight does. The horse should only leave the property for a maximum of three hours unless previously arranged with the owner. Horse Council of BC (HCBC) insurance and wearing regulation safety equipment - certified riding helmet and boots with a heel is mandatory. Piper: 17hh WB/TB that is well trained in dressage and flat work. He is no longer suitable for jumping. He needs an experienced rider, because will test when leaving the property alone, but in a group, he is very good. Lucky: 16hh quarter horse gelding that is wonderful on the trails. He is good to go out in a group or on his own but does require an intermediate rider. Other leasers currently ride on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, if you are looking to connect with another rider to trail ride. The only horse available on those days is Piper.
