This is a super rare 1974 top of the line vintage JVC VR-5660 receiver with a powerful 80 WPC into 8 ohms both channels driven, huge power transformer. This unit measures approximately 14" x 6" x 20" and it's a 48 pound beast from the glory days of hi-fi! This made in Japan receiver/preamp from this era was quality stuff and is very underrated. The cabinet is very nice with only a couple small scratches. A really cool unit that will be the centerpiece of a Mid-Century themed home décor. Operationally, this one produces clean, powerful, clear equal output from both channels with no humming, buzzing, or other noises. All inputs and outputs in working order with no issues at all. The amp section runs cool, unlike many older amps and receivers I have had. Sound output is powerful and can drive most of the speakers now very nicely. The only problem is the display, needs a new bulb too. Other than the display problem, this is a super rare unit and probably the top of the line for the series. I would have asked for more if display light and the bulb work. Someone in the world's biggest buy and sell site (e*ay) was asking over US$450 plus the extra and expensive cost of shipping for this heavy, hard to find vintage receiver. This is your chance to own this for a much lower price. Please check out the photos. * * Sorry, NO trades * * Check out my other ads, some items you might be interested.
