Preowned, large berry birch bark basket purchased in Fort Liard, Northwest Territories. Excellent condition as used only for art display. Only selling as I have many others in a collection and have to downsize significantly due to a recent move. These usually sell for approximately $212 plus tax at local Native Arts and crafts stores. Every basket is unique and hand crafted beautifully. This piece was handcrafted by an established Fort Liard artist Alma Jumbo which is identified on the bottom of the piece. The berry basket opens at the top, and widens at the bottom. The lid and sides have hand quilled porcupine quill designs. Used traditionly by the Dene to collect berries, these unique baskets are highly valued art pieces. Dimensions: 10 inches high x 7.5 inches at its widest Located on Interurban Road near Camosun College Interurban campus, available most afternoons and evenings daily.
