I built my first CNC quite a few years ago and learned so much. Eventually I sold it when I bought this machine and it was such a HUGE upgrade going from stepper motors to Servos and from belt to rack and pinion. Now I have bought my 3rd machine, with an ATC and a bunch of other bells and whistles that come with the newest top end CNC machines. I sold this machine almost 3 years ago to Metropol and they have just had it sitting in their workshop on the shipping pallet. The pandemic postposed and changed the plans of pretty much everyone. They have asked me to help them re-sell the unit as their plans have also changed since they originally purchased it. I bought my machine from a sign company in North Vancouver and ran it here in Esquimalt for about 2.5 years. I mostly cut plywood with it. They mostly cut thin aluminum with it. They were the original owner which makes me the 2nd and Metropol the 3rd. The CNC is a Precix. They are a company from the mainland in Canada that used to make the machines right here in Canada but moved to having the equipment built overseas sometime around 2009 from what I gather on the forums. Full disclosure, their reputation on some of the online CNC forums isn't very good and from everything I have seen this started after they moved to selling overseas built machines instead of made in Canada. The main complaints were due to people who had to wait ridiculously long times to receive their equipment. I read some stories of almost 2 year long waits after paying huge down payments and such. Here are some of my CNC projects so you can see the stuff this machine is capable of. I also made a couple videos so you can see it in action, I can send to you a link to a google photos album if you want to see them and more. Or you can come see it in person only if you are serious about purchasing. It is currently at Metropol here in downtown Victoria. The machine is for sale for $15,500 I have seen these full size machines in various conditions get listed and sold for anywhere between 8-30k in the past 7 years in BC It is priced to move quickly, first come first serve.
