Offered for sale this early ink on paper drawing by Canadian listed artist Don Jean-Louis. The drawing is in good condition, however it does have some slight issues. There are small pin holes at the corners where it was pinned to a surface at one point, also some minor crinkle folds, it was also glued down to the back of the frame and has been lifted off on the one side (all shown in images). The drawing is titled and dated on the back of the paper "Between Spring And Winter - 1961". Bio accreditation to National Gallery Of Canada. Don Jean-Louis was born in Hull, Quebec in 1937. A largely self-taught artist, he has been exhibiting in Canada and internationally since 1960, with his first solo show presented in 1961 at The Isaacs Gallery in Toronto. In 1978, he was named to the Royal Canadian Academy. Work by Jean-Louis is represented in a number of private collections, as well as in many public art collections in Canada, including the National Gallery, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Art Museum at the University of Toronto, the MacLaren Art Centre, the Agnes Etherington Art Centre at Queen's University, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Musée d'art contemporain in Montreal. Recent presentations of his work include a touring exhibition, Don Jean-Louis Silver Works (2006-2009), co-organized by The Robert McLaughlin Gallery and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and a three-person exhibition at the Douglas Udell Gallery in Vancouver in 2001, as well as a group exhibition at the University of Queensland Art Museum in Brisbane, Australia. Jean-Louis has been based on Vancouver Island since 1996.
