The Beautiful Section 8 is an alloy frame Designed by Brodie in Vancouver. This bike is loaded! It features front and rear disc brakes, full alloy fenders, suspension (shock absorbing) seat post, an adjustable stem, basket for carrying groceries etc., a center-mount kick stand, a matching bike rack... and one of the best features of the Section 8 is the Shimano Nexus 8 speed internally geared hub, which allows you to change gears while under way, or at a complete standstill - and with no derailleur there is virtually no maintenance. The bike is powered by a Bafang BBS02 750w mid drive motor with an incredible 120 newton meters of torque (very exceptional with mid drive motors), and effortlessly zips up hills (one of the beauties of mid-drive motor as opposed to a rear drive, is the ability to easily change a flat tire if necessary). The Bafang system is fully programmable to your riding style, has 9 PAS levels with no governor and can easily glide at around 45k on a flat (I put a 48 tooth chain ring on the bike for higher top end speed, but it comes with the original 46 tooth if you want even more hill climbing power). It also has a throttle that allows you to cruise without pedaling, or lets you take off from a standstill effortlessly. The huge 17Ah battery in this bike will provide well over 100kms of riding range on a single charge. Has port to power other USB devices. I purchased this bike as a spare in case my other bike was down for repairs, and though I enjoy riding it so much much more than my Shimano ebike with only a 250w motor, 8Ah battery, and 75nm of torque, I commute every day partially by bus, and as an old guy, I find it just too heavy to easily get on and off the bus. This bike has never been ridden in inclement weather and otherwise hardly at all.
