We are located in the heart of Fernwood and are walking distance to several different bus lines. A block and a half from the Fernwood Plaza with restaurants, pub, shops, yoga and meditation. 2 blocks to Fernwood Rec centre , spring ridge commons (food forest) and community gardens. 15 min. bike ride downtown or 8 minutes by bus. Great location. There is Bike storage. Easy access to PRC, Camosun and UVIC Front yard is medicinal garden and flowers, back yard has greenhouse, fruit trees, perrennial and raised garden beds for herbs, fruit and veggies. Organic /permaculture gardening practices. We encourage others to help out with garden chores, harvesting, preserving and eating. :-) The back yard is an everchanging canvas so always open to creative ideas. ABOUT US: You would be sharing a home with kind, considerate folks. A father daughter team. My papa is 72, retired but enjoys the rec centre , is jovial with a great sense of humour. I am in my 50’s with a slight disability. I have an herbal/botanical business and work from home. We are very relaxed and are looking for a like minded person. I am into growing food and medicinal herbs, sustainability, DIY everything :-) I would like to utilize more of the outdoor space for outdoor living. Summertime POTLUCKS. More or less it's quiet but we do have visitors and the odd couchsurfer(.com) You are: renting the room solo. Have a job/school, have references and are somewhat tidy. Assume responsibility and respect for the space you use and the others you share with. Know how to recycle and are conscious about environmental impacts. No pets permitted ***Sensitivities to perfumes, artificial scents. So non scented toiletries,laundry soap, fabric softener need to be used. natural scents, e. oils are fine..
