Brass label: Alternating Current Fan Motor No. 474154 110 Volts 60 Cycle NP 6252 12" Brass Blades Patent Dates: Aug 13, 1895 June 25, 1901 In 1908 GE introduced a fan of a different design. This fan would have a front and rear bearing with a slide switch in the base and is referred to among collectors as a Big Motor Yoke (BMY) as the motor was mounted in a yoke and able to be swiveled up and down and side to side. The speed selections are now Off 1, 2 and 3.
