Our free* employment programs (BladeRunners, WEST, Voyager) offer skill development, training opportunities, and support with the goal of helping people achieve their career goals. We support individuals facing complex barriers secure and maintain meaningful employment. These programs focus on training in the industries of hospitality, construction, administration, and horticulture. See dates below for our upcoming programs; Bladerunner and Voyager. BLADERUNNERS ( 2 weeks in class, $200 completion bonus + $100 proof of employment bonus) • Construction (April 1st – April 10th) • Hospitality ( April 22nd – May 10th ) • Construction ( May 20th – June 7th) • Hospitality (June 17th – July 5th) VOYAGER: ( 3 weeks in class, paid living allowance of $16.75/hour for 6 hours per day. Wage subsidy offered to employers after completion of program) • Horticulture (April 22nd – May 10th) • Hospitality (July 8th – July 26th) • Administration (August 12th – August 30th) • Horticulture (September 2nd – September 20th) • Hospitality (November 18th – December 6th) Please note that this is an employment training program. We do not offer job placements. Each program includes: • Breakfast and lunch daily • Bus tickets daily • Emergency First Aid • WHMIS • Back and Ladder Safety • Industry specific training and certificates • Employment workshops • Resume and job search support • Completion bonuses • Work gear upon employment Location & Schedule Programs take place over the course of 2-3 weeks, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. This occurs on location at 637 Bay St., Victoria BC. Eligibility • BladeRunners/WEST: Young adults who face multiple barriers to employment (ages 15-30) • Voyager: People who self-identify as having a disability (ages 15+) PLEASE NOTE: 1. These programs are classroom based in person requiring you to be at our office from course start to finish at 637 bay St in Victoria, BC. 2.This is not a job placement, it is a employment readiness program that will help you find a job and assist you with the supports you need. 3.. Bladerunners has an age cap of 30 years, ( voyager has no age limit) 4. To enroll in Voyager, you have to self identify* with a disability (quite flexible here, as we do not require a diagnoses. 5. All programs require candidates to have a valid Canadian SIN number.
