Made of ¾" oak veneered plywood with oak trim, I built these to be as open as possible. The supports are all on the sides and back, so there is nothing in the way of the shelves themselves. They are not symmetrical. As you face them, they measure 57 ½ inches long down the left side and 48 inches long down the right. Each shelf is 18 inches deep (front to back). Bottom shelf is 14.4 inches high. Top shelf is 13.5 inches high. The bottom shelf starts 6 inches up so you can store shoes underneath. That shoe space has a backstop to it, though, so you don't lose your loose shoes under there. The shelves are strong and tidy but, as you can see in the pictures, they are not fine furniture. I built them for an entryway room in my last house, somewhere to keep recycling bins, backpacks, and assorted other things. They would go well in a rec room, mudroom, garage, or shed. These shelves will not disassemble without basically ruining them so you need to take them in one piece. You will need a truck, trailer, or van to get them out of here. It's also going to take some maneuvering to get them out of my house, so it would be helpful to bring a friend.
