A major BC corporation here in Victoria is looking for a temporary Payroll and Benefits Administrator, to start ASAP until early-mid March 2020. PAYROLL & BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR Opportunity: Temporary contract Location: Just outside Downtown Victoria, on major transit routes Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday Pay: $22-26/hour, based on experience Main Responsibilities: * Ensures the accurate and timely processing of the full payroll cycle and responsible for a variety of benefits administration duties while maintaining confidentiality at all times. * Verifies all entries relating to pay transactions, payroll earnings deductions and related remittances. * Sets up and maintains procedures for the processing of various wage assignment court orders. * Responds to inquiries from internal and external clients regarding a variety of payroll and benefits related matters. * Carries out benefits administration duties related to time off entitlements, sick leave records, pension plan and enrolling employees and maintaining employee benefits information. * Assists manager with year end activities. Education and Experience * Grade 12 graduation, including accounting classes. * Minimum 1 year of payroll experience working with a computerized payroll system. * Experience in a unionized environment preferred but not required.
