Part Time Cook - $23.55/hr + Benefits

Part-Time Cook wanted @ VIHA affiliated facility We are a well respected 21 bed complex care facility in Victoria that has been in business for over 25 years. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a residential care setting and be at ease interacting with staff and residents. The cook should be self-directed with the ability to work independently and with others. In addition, the candidate shall meet all standards set out by the Community Care and Assisted Living Act. Duties and Responsibilities include: - Provide nutritional and therapeutic meals in a safe manner for our facility. - Maintains and updates the meal plan for the facility as approved by the Licensing Nutritionist. - Completes food and beverage orders weekly. - Receives, checks and stores all food and beverage orders as they arrive. - Washes, sterilizes and puts away all dishes used for snacks and meals. - Record keeping of all fridges and freezer temperature as required by licensing. - Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dinning room tables. - Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Completion of Grade 12 - Graduation from a 12-month program in cooking plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Criminal record check, CPR, First-Aid and Food Safe. Skills and Abilities: - Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. - Ability to deal with others effectively. - Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. - Ability to effectively organize workload. - Ability to operate related equipment.
