New digital media agency in the Cowichan Valley is looking for an entry-level graphic designer. Starting on a part-time contract basis with the goal of ramping up in hours and pay over the next 6 months. Required Skills & Strengths: - Genuine love for graphic arts and aesthetics. - Intuitive design sense. - Basic understanding of colour science. - A knack for typography and composition. - Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. - Experience with Adobe Indesign. Desirable Skills: - Web design/development experience; experience with CSS, HTML, the Wordpress platform and other basic web technologies. - Knowledge of Adobe Indesign. - Motion graphics and/or video editing in After Effects/Premiere - Traditional art/illustration skills. - Photography and/or videography experience. - Copywriting, social media, SEO and marketing experience.
