Here's a rare Gibson with a unique look and feel! The Goddess was marketed as a premium guitar for women, produced between 2006 and 2009. It's spec'd a bit differently than other Gibsons. The neck is narrow like many 60's and 70's SG's while having the thickness of a 60's SlimTaper (so quite thin), but still retaining the same rounded SG Standard shape. The build all-mahogany with medium jumbo frets and block inlays as usual, but it also has an ebony fretboard and the headstock color matches the finish - a combination usually reserved for select Custom Shop models. The Violet Burst finish is a beautiful rarity not found outside of the Goddess line. The body is also slightly smaller than a regular SG. On the other hand, the 1-volume 1-tone knob setup and the wraparound bridge make for simpler appointments usually seen in SG Junior models. The Goddess rounded out by the all too familiar 490R and 498T pickup combination, good for everything from the softest blues to the harshest metal. The previous owner certainly rocked out with this particular specimen. There is a chip on one end of the body contour, as well as small dings in the headstock. None of the play wear gets in the way of play-ability, affects tone or compromises the structural integrity of guitar, and it's not noticeable when seen from the front. The frets have also been professionally dressed, and the guitar has received a fresh setup at Guitar Plus. I consider the condition Very Good. See pictures. The guitar is perfect for people who don't have huge hands, or just want a more manageable Gibson. It's also got unique looks and collectible valuable, if you're into that kind of thing. And at the end of the day it's still a well-speced guitar that sounds and plays great. $1200 firm (formerly $1300). These often go for more online but the price reflects the existing wear, if largely unnoticeable. Comes with a Gibson-branded hardshell case. No trades, sorry.
