This car has been amazing to me, but it is time to adult a bit more and switch to something less suited for camping up a logging road and more suited to driving to the store to grab more diapers.. TL;DR: I'm looking to trade (or buy) a Subaru WRX (wagon), Lexus IS250 or IS350, Audi A3, or Audi A4 wagon for my dear Xterra. Depending on the year of what you've got, and what it is, I'm OK to put in $5000 or so to balance things out, value wise. Or full cash - that works too! What have I done *to* it?: - Oil changes 2 times per year, or every ~6000km, whichever came first. Full synthetic (Mobil-1) since 2014 or so. - Full fluids change within the last 25,000km. Transfer case, front and rear differentials, and transmission, all done with only genuine Nissan fluids - New clutch and light-weight flywheel in 2017 (both Jim Wolf Tech units) installed professionally to the tune of $3k - New U-joints in the drive shaft (both ends) in ~2019 - New driver and passenger side catalytic converters in ~2018 - New spark plugs within the last 25,000km (added an intake manifold spacer for extra ponies at the same time) - the previous owner replaced the timing chain - other stuff too. Just ask. Now this is not to say that all is well with the trusty steed. She's got north of 200,000kms, and has some quirks: - Some paint has chipped off the drivers side door and around the windshield (branches on a logging road to blame). No rust and the undercoat is OK. - Some dents, dings, scratches, and stains. - The rear leaf springs are past their prime. This is another common Xterra issue. As I understand it, its a 3-4 beer job with simple tools that every self respecting Xterra owner will already have. - The tire pressure indicator light is always on because the batteries in the tire pressure sensors are dead. I haven't fixed this because I don't need a light to tell me when my tires need air... - The driver's side rear door sticks locked sometimes. This is another common issue that seems to be fixed with some grease. Thanks for reading, and let me know if you're interested!
