Hours: Part time, 32 hours/ week, occasional evenings required Salary: $32.00-$34.90/ hour Benefits: Full health and dental benefits, RRSP contribution, paid vacation Start date: January/ February 2020, exact date to be determined Responsible for financial management, budget development and administrative duties involved in the operation of the organization. The Director of Finance provides leadership, vision, advice and counsel to the Board and staff team to ensure the society is making informed financial decisions. The Director of Finance oversees all accounting transactions, is responsible for maintaining various financial records and reports for the agency's programs, personnel records, payroll and benefits administration. Community Options currently has 9 employees and approximately 100 contractors with an annual budget of $2 million dollars. Summary of Director of Finance Responsibilities 1. Prepare and monitor annual operating budget. 2. Prepare quarterly financial reports and analysis of accounts and budget variances for the Board and Executive Director. 3. Ensure financial practices meet accountability requirements of accreditation body and funders 4. Ensure processing of all accounts payable invoices and related documentation. 5. Ensure processing of accounts receivable information and any necessary follow up 6. Prepare, process and complete employee payroll and benefit administration. 7. Work closely with the Program Coordinators to make funding requests, monitor/analyze accounts and discuss budget variances. 8. Ensure adequate resources are available to meet program commitments. 9. Assist with maintenance and development of agency's information systems. 10. Operational and administrative duties as required Qualifications and Skills 1. Degree in a related field and 5 years' experience in nonprofit fund accounting, financial planning and control, budgeting and management; or a combination of education and experience 2. Ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines 3. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, board, individuals and families served, funders and other stakeholders. 4. Proficient in Excel and Sage accounting software 5. Clear criminal record check
