Groves & Sons London, USE, Made For Bradford'. Of the various saw makers, Richard Groves and Sons stand out as one of the finest. Original condition. Handle is a little loose and banged up. 2 of the spanner nuts are missing. Blade is intact. It has sat unused in my dad's workshop for a good number of years. This saw was made with spanner or split-style nuts, commonly used until the 1870′s, with brass medallion faces. The medallion faces are marked 'USE', 'Established 1770' and 'USE'. Saw manufacturers started using medallions to identify their tools in the mid 1850's.
