BOAT YARD TECHNICIAN

Vector Yacht Services is searching for a Boat Yard Technician to join the dynamic and growing team at our Canoe Cove office. Vector Yachts is a large marine mechanical repair and engine sales outfit in Sidney that services clients from all over Vancouver Island, the surrounding Islands and the USA. We are a fully authorized dealer of Volvo Penta, Mercury, Yanmar and Suzuki engines. Vector Yachts offers full marine mechanical service, electrical, plumbing, systems maintenance and repair, as well as vessel bottom painting and more. We pride ourselves on our quality workmanship and to always deliver the highest and best services to our customers and the community. This is a full-time position and the successful candidate would be working Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. We are closed over long weekends and for two weeks at Christmas. Benefits will include extended health and dental after 3 months of successful employment. This position is responsible for assisting our technicians, prepping, painting and cleaning vessels, general maintenance and upkeep on clients boats as well as our work shop, office and the shared boat yard. All other duties as assigned. This is a fast paced environment so efficiency and attention to detail are our top priority. The successful applicant should possess Grade 12 or higher education and 2 years previous working experience. Attention to detail, tidy work ethic, along with excellent time management skills are qualities we are looking for. Previous painting experience is helpful, but no actual marine experience is required - we will provide training on everything that is needed to be successful in this position.
