If you need a length of cable for your home network or something, don't buy the crap they sell on Amazon. There is a lot of horrible cable out there that doesn't even use fully copper wire. They might use copper cladded tin. So the wire looks fine, but it absolutely will not perform fine. I'm not saying you have to buy this cable, but if you are buying cable, do some Googling to see if the brand is reputable. The brand does make a difference in this case. This cable is TE, or Tycho Electronics, previously AMP. This is Riser cable, FT6. This is a spool end, it has not been used and recovered, it's perfectly good unused cable. Cat6 is Category 6, which is newer than Category 5e, which is good enough for home networks. Cat6 is rated for Gigabit up to 95m and you aren't likely to go over Gigabit in your home network. If you are, then I probably don't need to tell you any of this. This is solid core wire, not patch cable wire. If you need a patch cable, check my other listings. Please don't terminate mod plugs on the ends of this wire at use it as a long patch cable. It will work, but it's just wrong. If you want to understand why it's wrong, maybe buy the BICSI manual I have listed. :) If you're looking for anything else cabling related, check my other listings, and follow my profile for future listings.
